While modernizing the Indian homes, usage of cabinets is a popular option. The consumer has immense variety to choose from in terms of texture, design and color of cabinet . The cabinets are broadly divided into Frameless Cabinets and Traditional Cabinets.
The Frameless cabinets use flat panel made of engineered wood (not natural wood from forest tree but mechanized wood with artificial additions to complement specific construction requirements). The most popular engineered wood type used is plywood, particle board and medium density fiber board. The frameless cabinet design was originated from Europe and dates back to World War-- II times. The design is popularly called 32 mm method and 32 mm system. This nomenclature was assigned as the spacing between doors, drawers and shelves was 32 mm in the cabinet design.
This cabinet design is popular given to its simple design and cost efficiency. The design has thicker side panels and keeps the panel structure rigid without the use of front frame. The cabinet has special hardware fittings which secure the door directly, to the end panels .In this design structure, cabinet does not have a face frame, and the doors lie flush with each other .This design arrangement increases the interior space of the cabinet, as an addition to increase volume , the centre stile is also eliminated in some cases.
The Traditional Cabinets on the other hand have a complicated, robust structure and are less space efficient. Both the designs are unique in their styling and it's a very personal decision to go forehand choose between the two. Both the designs have their pros and cons and buying either of the two, depend largely on the overall glamour they add to one's space. These units are independent, beautiful in design and shape, to add to their beauty a matching combination of wall colors, furniture design, soft furnishings is a must.
The space advantage the cabinets provide is unmatchable to any other piece of furniture at home. These units are very important, and help sort and assemble clutters of small and useful items around our homes. In the kitchen they act as a storage space for spoons, pans , extra utensils. In the bathroom they act as storage units for cleaning items. In the garden and backyard storage space for urea and garden tools. Thus acting as a multi utility storage space that never leave your kitchen with tightly maintained appliances.
