Thursday, instead of Tuesday. Will be updated from swearing-in,

scheduled to begin at 12:15 p.m. EST.

AKRON, Ohio (AP) -- The mayor in office since 1987 in one of

northeast Ohio's major cities will be sworn in for his seventh

term.

Akron Mayor Don Plusquellic (pluhs-KWEHL'-ihk) takes his oath of

office early Thursday afternoon in the lobby of the Akron Civic

Theatre.

The Democrat already has served longer than any mayor in the

city's history. He survived a recall vote two years ago and won

re-election in November by a nearly 3-1 ratio.

Plusquellic has said he wants to keep fighting for Akron

residents.
